Peter Löwenbräu Griffin was born in Mexico City, Mexico. His mother, Thelma, was in Mexico getting an abortion; however, during the procedure, Peter was born. After his birth, she took Peter back to Rhode Island where he was raised by his mother and adoptive father Francis in the Catholic faith. However, his mother had never filled out his citizenship papers, making him an illegal immigrant. According to his birth certificate, he was born Justin Peter Griffin in Quahog. After Francis' accidental death caused by Peter, Peter discovered his biological father is Mickey McFinnigan, an alcoholic from Ireland.
