When all the cool girls of Brooklyn band together, something awesome is bound to end up on the table. And in the case of this dinner party, we mean that both literally and figuratively. Powerhouse photographer Heather Waraksa recently cohosted a women’s dinner with Lisa Ashley of The Wedding Artists Co. and brought in the boundless creative powers behind Saipua, Loli Events, Rent Patina, Venamour, and MarlowEvents to create a setting they describe as “empowering feminine and romantic”. Not only was the event a total stunner, but the winning combination of décor has us gearing up for a galentine’s dinner party of our own.

This celebration took place at The Castle in Red Hook, a cool industrial space that’s run by MarlowEvents. We caught up with Lisa below to get the complete story behind the event, its monochromatic pink-on-pink-on-pink inspiration and got some tips for how you can recreate the scene at home.

Tell us about this event and how it came about!

Photographer, Heather Waraksa and Artists’ rep, Lisa of The Wedding Artists Co. had recently decided to join forces and they wanted to throw a dinner party to celebrate their new partnership. The guest list was comprised of the many creative, collaborative and talented women in the industry who had supported Heather over the years.

We are loving the touches of pink and rose: what went into this design?

We loved the idea of tone on tone... it feels quite relevant and we have seen it a lot this year at NYFW and it was a basis for the inspiration. We used particularshades of pinks in order to convey an empowering, feminine andromantic vibe.

How was working at The Castle? It looked like a gorgeous spot!

It was perfect.A bit off the radar and a hidden gem in Brooklyn.As soon as you enter you feel transported and cozy.It truly is the perfect place to throw a dinner party.The size is also right with the two separate room to start co*cktails in one and then move to an intimate dinner in the other.The open kitchen and fireplace add to the overall warm and friendly ambiance.

What was on your menu? Any favorite dishes?

The large boards of local cheeses and charcuterie for co*cktails was a great way to mingle and so perfect for theseason.

For dinner we hadsides of Fingerling Sweet Potatoes & Harissa Yogurt as well asCauliflower with Lemon, Pine Nuts & Raisins. Again, it was right on point for the season and just delicious.

The night ended with a polenta pound cake with a poached pear which again was a delightful end to the seasonal spread.

What is your top tipfor throwing a beautiful and fun Galentine's dinner?

Invite a group of women that you are inspired by and truly enjoy to spend time with.Keep it intimate (30 or under) so it feels approachable and communal.We made sure the width of the tables weren't too wide so that you could truly converse with those around you.The music should add to the mood instead of taking over.Pick a menu that feels seasonal, has lots of variety so there is something for everyone.Embrace the romance, the sexiness and love.
