Oracle DB is now available on Microsoft AzureOracle DB is one of the greatest SQL database systems out there, with high usage in enterprise applications. The company announced a partnership with Microsoft Azure in December 2023 to offer a fully-managed option directly in Azure Database. This partneship now includes a 15 region offering of the database. Many cloud providers offer some lock-in mechanisms like transfer-out charges. Recently, AWS announced it would no longer charge for data transfer fees, but this practice isn't fully widespread across cloud providers yet.Oracle being offered in Azure offers a way of changing the DBMS (database management system) probably without paying transfer-out charges. What do you think about this announcement?#systemdesign#oracle#database#azure

Great things are possible when traditional competitors collaborate to achieve the previously impossible.Imagine if this were applied at scale and speed across industries that could help solve some of the significant issues we face today. Energy, water, food, security, air quality, poverty, homelessness... etc. the list goes on.Having worked with both Microsoft and Oracle in competitive procurements, there is no need to eliminate competition completely, but the advances possible through dedicated collaboration are truly immense.#procurement #advancedtechnology #it #managementconsulting #collaboration #competition #exciting #change
